The Solare House is a recovery residence where you can build a strong foundation of recovery, independence and freedom gradually while surrounded by a supportive community of sober women. We strive to create a home-like atmosphere where our residents can focus on their recovery.
Our mission is to provide a structured, safe and sober living environment in which all residents are offered support and encouragement as they build their recovery foundation based on 12 step principles.
Our vision is to prepare every recovering woman to maintain physical and emotional sobriety as they transition back to becoming responsible and participating citizens in their community.
Solare Houses are safe, structured residences for women who are in recovery from alcohol and/or drugs. All our living environments are single family homes in a good neighborhood and are managed entirely by women. Each home has a house manager living on property who is available to answer any questions, provide support and encouragement. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals in recovery. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance and we are committed to helping our residents achieve lasting sobriety.
Twice a month the women come together for a mandatory community meeting where we discuss relapse prevention, milestones in their lives and areas they may be struggling in. The women are also required, for their own benefit, to attend Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or Cocaine Anonymous daily and to engage in the 12-steps with a sponsor. We know that this is important because those who both attend meetings and live in structured recovery residences have 75% fewer relapses in a two-year period.
We know that recovery is more than just meetings so as part of our structure we provide a five-phase system to promote a strong foundation of recovery. This system allows women to build toward independence and freedom gradually, advancing the strength of her recovery with each phase. The requirements for each phase vary and phasing up is done at the discretion of the house manager. Our staff supports and encourages her to set and achieve her own educational, occupational, and recovery-oriented goals.
To ensure the safety of the community, we administer drug and breathalyzer tests on all women residing with us. Mandatory curfews are used to ensure that women are home at a safe hour and getting healthy sleep each night. In addition, there are guidelines for visitors to the property regarding when they can come and where they are allowed to be. To promote strong recovery and the stability of the living environment, we suggest all residents stay with us for a minimum of six months. We also partner with local inpatient and outpatient treatment, aftercare and alumni programs to provide counseling and support as the need arises.
In addition to the structure and positive reinforcement, and just as important, is the sisterhood that grows between the women in the community. While living at Solare Houses you will receive daily encouragement and support to ensure continuous, long-term freedom from drugs and alcohol. Friendships will be built and bonds formed for years to come. The women here will help you learn to balance recovery, life and fun! Being sober allows us to enjoy life to the fullest. Come join us and build your own strong foundation for living.

The Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) was founded in 2011 to evaluate and monitor community-based residential settings and provide standards-based recovery support services.
Over a 6-month period in 2017 Solare House went through the FARR certification process. All policies and procedures were reviewed, and residences inspected by FARR. Since this time, we have maintained our certification by participating in a yearly inspection.
In addition to our FARR certification, we are required to have one (1) Certified Recovery Residence Administrator (CRRA) for every three (3) houses we have. To obtain our CRRA Certificates we took a course and test on the responsibilities of a CRRA and maintain them by completing 10 hours per year of continuing education credits.
